I am a true optimist at heart. I have embraced the notion that only 10 percent of life is what happens to you, and the other 90 percent is how you choose to respond to it.
I recently heard a recording called “The Strangest Secret in the World,” by Earl Nightingale. However, what he talked about was no secret, strange perhaps to some, because of its simplicity, yet it was powerful. Listening to this recording was life changing for me; a definite “Aha” moment.
Mr. Nightingale emphatically states that the key to success lies within our thoughts; it’s a law. As a man thinketh, so is he. Whatever we think about the most is whatever we will have, and whatever we will be. If negative thoughts are allowed, then permission has been granted to experience negative results. On the other hand, if positive thoughts are dominant, then it’s inevitable that positive outcomes will be the result.
I have my own motto which supports this concept (law) as well, change your mind, change your life. Whenever I’m conversing with someone who’s speaking negatively about a situation, or has a defeatist attitude, I always ask “Who told you that, and who have you been listening to?!” What we hear, see, and to whom we speak, greatly shapes our own thought processes. Therefore, our environment has a tremendous impact upon the outcome of our lives.
Considering the old adage, birds of a feather flock together I have made a concerted effort to ensure that I’m surrounding myself with likeminded individuals. I want to ensure that I am constantly Compassed (pun intended) with positive energy. Ergo, I am now a member of a wonderful organization that is committed to empowering, and inspiring people everywhere. I am very proud, pleased, and excited about this decision. I am completely enthused with the limitless possibilities of being a Compass business owner.
Remember, you don’t have to die to have peace. Live in peace, and live life abundantly.
