Who am I really? That continually evolves. At this writing, I’m a woman ramping up her commitment to living her life with passion and purpose. I've decided that it's time! It’s time to talk less and do more. It's time to stop looking for answers and be the answer. It's time to stop waiting for something to happen and make it happen. It's time to stop expecting tomorrow to be better and make today all that it can be. It's time to shine! It's time to be the dynamic, powerful woman I was born to be. Yes, I’ve accomplished things that make me proud: like I wrote and published a book, Love Addicted. Sure, the finished product gives me bragging rights. But what really brings me deep pride is this: I completed something that I started. Seven years later. Were there obstacles? Absolutely! I’d abandoned the practice of law to answer the call to write Love Addicted. There were times when I wondered where I’d get the money to gas my car. Shucks, there came a time when I didn’t have a car. But, I pressed on. Why? Because that still small voice that lives within each of us told me things would work out. And they did.

So who is DeBora M. Ricks? She’s an opinionated, easily excited, passionate, sometimes perfectionist, healer, teacher, change agent, broker, connector, life-long learner, book lover, world traveler, curious adventurer, spiritual being having a human experience who fiercely loves her teen daughter Adia, adores her many friends, and believes fervently in the power of forgiveness to transform lives.

People seem to have strong feelings about me. They either love me, or hate me. Or should I say, strongly dislike me. What’s important is that I like and love me. Can you relate? We don't need anyone's permission but our own to live dazzling, meaningful, abundant lives. I'm on a mission to chart my own course, to live a big ole, juicy life and do so unapologetically.
